NEWPORT SENIOR AND ADULT ACTIVITY ASSOCIATION

The Senior Activity Center Association is a non-profit organization of concerned citizens banding together to assist in assuring the quality of life to senior citizens in our area. The majority of members of the Association are volunteers. The Association wishes to assist in providing a clean, safe environment for Senior Citizens to enjoy a meal, provide a facility for social interaction, as well as share information and referrals to Senior Citizens and others in our community in need of assistance.

    Although the building and maintenance are provided by the City of Newport, the Association is a separate entity and totally self-sufficient through sales from the gift shop, donations, fund-raising and the proceeds from membership dues. The dues signify a commitment of those in the community that wish to show support for the Senior Activity Center and the services that it provides.

    There is also a stipulation to include Honorary members, those people interested in the goals of the Association, but may not meet the criteria to be a voting member, (i.e., the age requirement of 60 or older).
